Forking pathways/Browser Based Planning: -
In this workshop we began looking at how we would plan the pages for our Hotglue website and how they would all link together. I had already begun Flatplanning my website as though it was a publication I was designing (See Site Plan) I had made notes on pages and how they would look potentially.
This workshop helped as a flowchart worked as a better way to look at how information would run on a website. During the workshop, we thought up a story Fig 3 and when doing this we had to think of them as web pages. After we'd done this we put them all together and looked to see if there were any similarities within our stories. Fig 3 and 4 show that our story of Madeline McCanns disappearance linked with another groups choice of Finding Nemo, this has helped me to realise my ideas for my website, and plan the pages better, not thinking too much about design but the function of the page.
Fig 1 being the homepage you can click through to see how everyone elses stories may have linked in one way or another.
After the workshop I began to think about looking at my website as less of a design document and more about something that should connect all the way through. I also want to plan which content goes where so that everything I am researching and looking at is coherent.
When designing my own hierarchical system I wanted to focus on ensuring that the content I have been researching, the workshops and the final project were all outlined. In the beginning I focused on creating sub pages instead of having a lot of content on one page like a standard website.
